The NFL draft has just recently concluded. As a Giants fan, I wanted to take some time to review how I felt about some of the picks. I will also attach the link that features the experts’ reviews on their first round selection.

Round 1: Andrew Thomas

Analysis: The Giants decided to use their first pick in the draft on Andrew Thomas, an offensive lineman from Georgia. Thomas was seen as the best offensive lineman in a very strong class of them. A lot of fans were upset that the Giants elected to take him over Isaiah Simmons, a linebacker from Clemson. I, however, liked this pick because the Giants have a very bad offensive line so they need all the help they can get there. It is crucial for the Giants to protect their two offensive stars in Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones so Thomas was clearly the right guy to help with that.

Round 2: Xavier McKinney

Xavier McKinney was seen by many experts to be the steal of the draft. He was ranked as the number 15 overall prospect and fell to the Giants in the second round at pick 36. This one was a no brainer for the Giants and he will be able to come in and provide an instant boost to the Giants’ defense. This was probably my favorite pick of their draft and I cannot wait to see him take the field for us. These were the two highlight picks of the draft for the Giants and they could not have done a better job in filling their needs with stars in the first couple of rounds. For the first time in a while it actually seems like the Giants have a plan to turn the franchise around.
