The commissioner of the NFL has just informed all teams that this years draft will be held online rather than on property due to COVID-19. The main factor in choosing the online format rather than pushing the draft off to a later date was the hope to start the season as scheduled. Owners have already reached out to express concern about the possibility of missing a pick due to a wifi crash at some point throughout the event. However, the commissioner has already started to dismiss these concerns saying that if the wifi for some reason stops cooperating to just call the pick in with a phone, like how these used to do it in the old days. Teams are also prohibited from meeting face to face with prospects; instead, they will have virtual meetings.
